What is PICME 3.0 login?
PICME 3.0 is the updated version of the PICME portal, providing an enhanced user experience for pregnancy and infant healthcare services in the state of Tamil Nadu.
Why PICME is Important
- PICME works to make sure that every expectant mother receives thorough, continuous medical care both throughout and after their pregnancy. By monitoring doctor’s visits, shots, and other essential medical procedures, PICME reduces the possibility of problems for both the mother and her baby.
- An RCH ID is needed in Tamil Nadu to issue a birth certificate. Because of this, all expectant mothers must register with PICME to obtain the legal documents for their babies.
- To get advantages under any of the government schemes, including the Dr.Muthulakshmi Reddy Maternity Benefit Scheme, which provides pregnant women with financial help, PICME registration is required.
- Health authorities can use the system to detect and keep an eye on pregnancies that pose a high risk to themselves and their babies. This helps to make sure that every woman receives prompt interventions to avoid challenges during birthing.
- PICME has integrated services with the 108 Ambulance Service and the Emergency Management and Research Institute to facilitate effective coordination and assistance during emergencies, primarily for pregnant mothers who are about to give birth.
How to Register for PICME?
The methods of Pre-registration or direct interaction with a Village Health Nurse or Urban Health Nurse are the primary ways to register pregnancy under the PICME system.
Registering Directly with an Urban or Village Health Nurse
- The pregnant mother will meet with the VHN or UHN at the closest Primary Health Center.
- The VHN or UHN will then verify the pregnancy and collect the required data, such as contact information, medical history, and personal details.
- The nurse will then create an RCH ID for the applicant by entering details into the PICME system.
- The registered mobile number will get a confirmation message containing the RCH ID.
Methods of Pre-Registration
The simplest method to register for PICME is to contact the Village Health Nurse or Urban Health Nurse.
If pregnant women are unable to visit the VHN/UHN, they can pre-register using one of the methods below:
Online Enrollment through PICME Login: They should visit https://picme.tn.gov.in, the official PICME website, and select “Pre-Registration” and enter the necessary information on the PICME Registration Form. An SMS will be delivered to the provided phone number, and a Pre-Registration ID will be generated upon completion of the form.
E-Seva Centres: Tamilnadu expectant mothers can visit the nearest e-Seva center to pre-register for their pregnancy at no cost. They will be given the Pre-Registration ID, and center staff will assist them in inputting the necessary information.
Contact Center (102): Expectant mothers can pre-register by calling the toll-free number 102. After completing the necessary information over the phone, a Pre-Registration ID will be given by SMS.
Public Health Facilities: Pregnant women can pre-register by visiting the nearest government hospital, where registration will be assisted by staff members. The pregnant woman’s information is forwarded to the proper VHN/UHN after pre-registration, and they will contact her to complete the registration and provide an RCH ID.
